The Glass Doll

by Sophia O’Brien

I am a doll made of glass and on a shelf.

When people pass me by I feel just fine.

But when people are cruel to me I feel as if I could break

Into a million pieces.

I am a glass doll who has flowers in her hair.

They are delicate and fragile like me.

My heart makes cracks and aches when people are fake to me.

I can’t do anything about it because I just stand there frozen, and I can not move.

The Masks surround me, and the cracks start to spread.

They’re pushing the limit, and tearing me to pieces

But I still glue myself together.
